Newbury’s 18th blue plaque is a joint venture between Newbury Town Council, the Thomas Hardy Society and the Chequers Hotel, Oxford Street and will be unveiled by the Mayor of Newbury, Cllr Nigel Foot, at 11.30am on Saturday 7th October.
The Newbury in Bloom Presentation evening took place at the Corn Exchange, Newbury on 14 September 2023. The Mayor of Newbury, Cllr Nigel Foot, together with the sponsors, presented the awards to the very deserving winners.

As part of Visit Newbury’s Festival of the Moon, the Town Hall will be hosting talks from the Average Scientist (TAS) on Tuesday 29 August, about moon formation theories, the ‘First Woman’ and philosophical exploration.
At 5pm on Wednesday 12 July, members of the community of Ukrainians who have come to stay in Newbury under the Government’s Homes for Ukraine scheme, unveiled a temporary exhibit on the wall of Newbury Town Hall in the Market Place.
