On Tuesday 31st August, the Mayor of Newbury is inviting families to come and take part in a Teddy Bears Picnic to raise money for the Mayor’s Benevolent Fund and his chosen charity.
We are asking for volunteers to meet at the meadow in City Recreation Ground on Sunday 5th September at 10am and at the Victoria Park Bandstand on Sunday 19th September at 10am to help cut the wildflower meadow, disperse the seed heads and prepare the area so that next summer it will look beautiful once again.
The Town Council’s public consultation on the proposal to raise a loan of up to £300,000 for a new community café has been extended until the end of August.
The Mayor of Newbury has launched a year long fundraising campaign in support of his chosen charity. Cllr Billy Drummond announced the launch of the ‘One in 100 Fundraising Campaign’ on Saturday 31st July as part of a charity coffee morning for Newbury Speakabilty.
Newbury Town Council has been named a finalist in the National Association of Local Council’s (NALC) Star Council Awards 2021 and we are in the running for the Council of the Year award.
