NEWBURY TOWN COUNCIL SADDENED BY THE NEWS OF THE DEATH OF HRH THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH
Newbury Town Council’s Members and Officers are deeply saddened at the news of the death of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.
The Mayor of Newbury, Cllr Elizabeth O’Keeffe, said, "Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with Her Majesty and the Royal Family following the death of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh.
"Prince Philip supported many good causes, in particular his Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme which a great many young people in Newbury have both benefitted from and achieved”.
Due to current Covid-19 regulations, Newbury Town Council will not be using physical Condolence Books. Instead, we are encouraging all to 'sign' the official electronic version available at:

In line with the wishes of the Royal Household, we are asking residents not to leave any floral tributes. Instead, it is encouraged to make a donation to either a charity of your choosing or one of The Duke of Edinburgh's Patronages in his memory. As a mark of respect, the Union Flag will be flown at half-mast.
Newbury Town Council are also encouraging all take take part in the National Minute's Silence at 3pm on Saturday 17th April, forming part of HRH's funeral.
