MAYOR’S FUNDRAISING SUCCESS!
Cllr Nigel Foot, former Mayor of Newbury, was delighted to announce his fundraising total in support of West Berkshire Homeless at the Town Council’s Mayor Making ceremony that took place on Sunday 12 May.
Throughout his term in office in 2023/2024, Cllr Foot championed West Berkshire Homeless, through a variety of fundraising events including raffles, a quiz night, fundraising concerts, coffee mornings and more.
After a year-long effort, the former Mayor was pleased to announce that the grand total from his fundraising efforts came to £2603.11!
Cllr Nigel Foot said, “I am absolutely delighted with the amount raised for West Berkshire Homeless over my year as Mayor. Every penny raised will be very well used and very welcome for Erica (Gassor) and her team as the demand for homeless shelters and also utilities and food provision are going up and up. I know we will continue to support Erica and West Berkshire Homeless in every way we can at Newbury Town Council.”
Cllr Foot extended his thanks to everyone who contributed to his fundraising efforts and to those who participated in his fundraising events throughout his mayoral year.
Erica Gassor, on behalf of the Trustees of West Berkshire Homeless said, “We are so delighted and privileged to be chosen as the Mayor of Newbury’s Charity for 2023/24 and were bowled over to receive a cheque for £2603.11 – an amazing amount and out sincere thanks go to the outgoing Mayor, Cllr Nigel Foot, and his team for all their hard work”.
The newly elected Mayor, Cllr Andy Moore will be supporting West Berks Foodbank throughout his mayoral year.
