HELP TO SAVE OUR BANDSTAND!
The much-loved bandstand in Victoria Park needs a new roof. The Bandstand has been in the Park since 1937 and although still able to be used, the lead roof is now leaking. The Town Council has carried out some emergency repairs, but a new roof is the best solution.
Cllr Martin Colston, Leader of the Council said, “The Bandstand is home to a programme of Saturday and Sunday afternoon concerts throughout the summer. These and other popular events at the Bandstand draw crowds into the Park and the Town centre. These events will be even more popular when the new Community Café opens in the Park in Spring 2023, so this is a great opportunity to get involved and help to ensure the Bandstand can continue to be used in years to come”.
The Town Council hopes to have these 2 projects completed in time for summer 2023 and is seeking your support to provide a new roof for the Bandstand.
This fundraising project is now live on The Good Exchange platform where every donation will be match funded by Greenham Trust. https://app.thegoodexchange.com/project/19425/newbury-town-council/a-new-roof-for-the-bandstand-in-victoria-park-newbury
