BRING YOUR TEDDY FOR A DAY OUT IN THE PARK AND MEET THE MAYOR!
On Tuesday 31st August, the Mayor of Newbury is inviting families to come and take part in a Teddy Bears Picnic to raise money for the Mayor’s Benevolent Fund and his chosen charity.
Cllr Billy Drummond is inviting youngsters to join him and Bartholomew the Bear in Victoria Park Bandstand for a picnic lunch between 11am and 1pm. There will some light refreshments to purchase and some activities, including a teddy bear treasure hunt and an opportunity for you and your teddy bear to meet the Mayor.
The event is free for all to attend, but there will be opportunities to donate to the Mayor’s Benevolent Fund which helps those in need within our local community and contribute towards the Mayor’s chosen charity, Speakability.
The Mayor of Newbury, Cllr Billy Drummond said, “I do hope families will come along; it will be great fun for children and families to get involved. We have taken great care to organise this event responsibly and with everyone’s safety the priority. Bring your favourite bear and enjoy our beautiful Victoria Park!”
