VICTORIA PARK FAMILY DAY – SUNDAY 12 JUNE 2022

Newbury Town Council will be holding a Family Day in Victoria Park on Sunday 12 June from 12 noon to 4pm.

There will be entertainment for all ages including traditional Punch & Judy shows, dancing and singing on the Bandstand with the Ragtime Theatre School, folk band ‘Whoosya’ and Watership Brass.

There will be a climbing wall for everyone to try throughout the afternoon and Kennet Radio will be there too broadcasting live from the event. We’ll even have a Fire Engine and a Police car for you to explore!

The local branch of ‘Rugby Tots’ will be coming along so you can meet them. They run groups for 2 – 7 year olds to develop their social and physical skills, in a fun, positive environment.

The Bowls Club are happy to welcome new members and the Club will be open for everyone to look around and have a chat about membership and how you can get involved.

The tennis courts will be open too with the inaugural ‘Newbury Town Council Tennis Championship’ heats running throughout the day with the final trophy being presented by the Mayor of Newbury at 3:30pm.

The National Tennis Association will be on hand to chat about classes and how you can get involved. Membership for a whole year for a family costs from just £45.

Our children’s Splash Park will be open, as it is every day throughout the summer from 10:30am until 5pm so children can make the most of the day, and hopefully the sunshine.  The Skatepark will be open to everyone so come along and show off your skills!

Cllr Sarah Slack, Deputy Leader of the Council said, “Newbury Town Council would like to invite everyone along on Sunday 12 June to see what’s going on and enjoy all the facilities on offer. After having to cancel the event for the past 2 years due to the pandemic we are very excited to be able to offer families a free day out to have fun and enjoy our wonderful Victoria Park”.
