VICTORIA PARK FAMILY DAY RETURNS FOR 2024!
Newbury Town Council will be holding a Family Day in Victoria Park on Sunday 19 May from 12 noon to 4pm. The Mayor of Newbury, Cllr Andy Moore will be officially opening the event at noon.
There will be entertainment for all ages including traditional Punch & Judy shows, dancing and singing on our newly refurbished Bandstand with the Ragtime Theatre School, musical entertainment and our ‘Town Band’, Watership Brass and local musician Bruce Hogg.
We’ll have a climbing wall and a mobile caving adventure free of charge for everyone to try throughout the afternoon and Kennet Radio will be there too broadcasting live from the event. We’ll even have a Fire Engine and a Police car for you to explore!
Cllr Gary Norman, Leader of the Council said, “We are delighted to welcome back families to Victoria Park for a day of fun-filled activities and laughter in a safe and enjoyable environment. With our brand-new outdoor fitness equipment and the refurbishment of our beloved Bandstand, we are so proud of our beautiful town centre Park.
The tennis courts and Splash Park will also have had a makeover ready for Summer 2024!”
The local branch of ‘Rugby Tots’ will be coming along so you can meet them. They run groups for 2 – 7-year-olds to develop their social and physical skills, in a fun, positive environment.
The Bowls Club are happy to welcome new members and the Club will be open for everyone to look around and have a chat about membership and how you can get involved. The Adventure Golf Course will be open too so come and have a go!
Our tennis coaches will be offering some free sessions so you can come and give tennis a try. The National Tennis Association will be on hand to chat about classes and how you can get involved. Membership for a whole year for a family cost from just £50.
Our children’s Splash Park will be open, and it’s had a spruce up for the summer! It will be open every day until mid-September from 10:30am until 5pm so children can make the most of the day, and hopefully the sunshine. The Skatepark will be open to everyone so come along and show off your skills! And not forgetting our brand-new outdoor gym equipment!
Newbury Town Council would like to invite everyone along on Sunday 19 May to see what’s going on and enjoy all the facilities on offer in Victoria Park.
