VICTORIA PARK BANDSTAND TO HAVE A FACELIFT!

The much-loved Bandstand in Victoria Park, which sees a full programme of musical events throughout the summer, is set to have a full refurbishment.

Cllr Sarah Slack, Chair of the Town Council’s Community Services Committee said, “You may have noticed that our much-loved Bandstand needs a bit of TLC - we provided some funds in this year’s budget for this project and we have since received further funding via The Good Exchange which will allow the renovations to take place ready for the Summer 2023 season. We would especially like to thank The Greenham Trust, West Berkshire Council and the Syder Foundation for their generous support””

The Bandstand has hosted a number of music events throughout the summer, including the Jazz Platform, The Rectory Close Jammers and our Town Band, Watership Brass. Most weekends from May through to September there are musical performances in the afternoons. All events in the Park can be found on our website: https://www.newbury.gov.uk/services/victoria-park/  

Cllr Slack continued, “With all the refurbishment that we have completed in the Park over the last few years, it will be super to see the Bandstand back to its best and the new café project due to open in Spring 2023 as the icing on the cake, we very much look forward to residents enjoying the Park for years to come”.
