TOWN COUNCIL TO HOST CLIMATE EMERGENCY COMMUNITY WORKSHOP
Newbury Town Council’s fifth Climate Emergency Workshop will be held on Saturday 1 October 2022 at 2pm in Town Hall Chamber, Market Place.
Since declaring a climate emergency in 2019, the Town Council’s Climate Emergency Working Group (CEWG) has been taking action to transition Newbury Town Council’s operations to net zero for carbon emissions.
At the workshop, the Council will be outlining its climate emergency journey so far and updating the public on the suggestions that came out of the very first Workshop in 2019.
Chairperson of the NTC Climate Emergency Working Group, Cllr Chris Foster said, “We are committed to taking further action to ensure the activities of the Town Council are carbon neutral by 2030 or before. The impacts of the climate crisis are already being felt right across our community.
This workshop is interactive and is open to all members of the public and local sustainability groups so they can showcase their projects and make suggestions for the next stage of the Council’s Climate Emergency work. If your Group would like to have a platform at the Workshop or an information stand at the Town Hall, please do get in touch”.
Registration is recommended should you wish to take part as numbers are restricted at the Town Hall. You can register here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/newbury-town-council-climate-change-workshop-tickets-380904183667
