TOWN COUNCIL & NEWBURY MARKET SUPPORT NEWBURY PRIDE 2023!
Pride Month takes place every year in June and is a celebration designed to recognise the influence of the LGBTQ+ communities around the world, including in the UK.
The Newbury Pride Parade 2023 will take place on Saturday 24 June kicking off at Victoria Park at 1pm and heading through Parkway Shopping to the Market Place. Newbury Town Council are pleased to be supporting this event which was a great success last year.
Newbury Market will be trading as usual in the Market Place alongside the festival and the Town Hall will be flying the Pride flag during the celebrations. There’ll be extra stalls in the Market Place and entertainment along the route.
Newbury Pride is run by a dedicated group of volunteer committee members, and everyone is welcome to join in the Parade and celebrate alongside members of the LGBT+ community. This event is suitable for all, family friendly, fun and enjoyment for everyone.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Newbury, Cllr Nigel Foot and his wife Cllr Sarah Slack are looking forward to attending the event saying, “We are honoured to have been invited to the second Newbury Pride event. Last year’s seemed to be a huge success and we are really looking forward to having great fun on the day. The Town Council are delighted to be supporting the event and are pleased that we can work with the Pride team to ensure our traditional Market can carry on as usual in the Market Place. I would encourage everyone to come along and enjoy themselves!”
