REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY PARADE & SERVICE IN NEWBURY - 13 NOVEMBER 2022

The Remembrance Sunday Parade & Service will be held in Newbury on Sunday 13 November 2022.  The proceedings will commence with the main parade stepping off at 10.30am from Pelican Lane and marching the length of Northbrook Street turning into Mansion House Street where the Mayor of Newbury, Cllr Gary Norman, will take the salute prior to continuing to the Market Place where the Remembrance Service will take place.

Following the brief Service of Remembrance in the Market Place, the parade will march past the War Memorial where wreaths will be laid on the way into St Nicolas Church.

There will be a qualified British Sign Language expert who will be positioned in order to ensure that those people who need help hearing the service are able to see the Signer. It is requested that members of the public wishing to be near to the Signer should position themselves in the roadway near to Zizzi (the old Strada restaurant) to give them a clear view, however signage will also be in place.

Cllr Gary Norman, Mayor of Newbury said, “We are grateful that so many veterans, service personnel, uniformed organisations, youth groups, voluntary organisations and members of the public take part and attend the Newbury Remembrance Parade and Service each year.

Our community comes together at this time to remember those who have given their lives in the service of the country. It is a poignant occasion, and I am honoured to be taking the salute on behalf of our Town. "

Service sheets will be available on the day and will also be available to download from the Newbury Town Council website.

Everyone is welcome to attend this event.
