Anglo-Saxon cemeteries, the origin of local place-names, the growth of Christianity, and the Newbury area in the immediately pre-Conquest period will be among the topics in this 8-week course.

Sites along the Lambourn Valley, including East Shefford and Boxford will be among those covered, along with a look at the range of source material available to find out about Anglo-Saxon finds near where you live.

Course tutor Dr David Peacock has researched, written about and taught the history of West Berkshire and the Newbury area for many years.

8 weeks from Tuesday 17 January (excluding February half term holiday of Tuesday 14 February) until Tuesday 14 March 2023, 1.30pm-3.30pm each Tuesday afternoon.
