TOWN COUNCIL DELIGHTED AT THE RE-OPENING OF FARADAY ROAD FOOTBALL PROVISION
West Berkshire Council have recently announced the re-opening of the Faraday Road Football Sports Provision with a grand opening event set to take place on 19 November.
Cllr Vaughan Miller, Chair of the Town Council’s Community Services Committee said, “I am delighted to see the return of football to Faraday Road after four years of the Town Council, working with the Newbury Community Football Group, lobbying West Berkshire Council, to this end. I look forward to seeing the facilities being fully restored with a 3G pitch and club house which was part of the social fabric in Newbury for so many years.”
Cllr Gary Norman, Leader of the Town Council said, “This has been part of our strategy since day one of the new Council administration in 2019. Faraday Road has been the home of senior football in Newbury for over 60 years and it is great to see football in Newbury finally coming home!”
The football pitch is ready for communities and groups to use the ground for their leisure, with new temporary changing facilities and football goals for both children and adults.
There’ll be two 5-a-side football games between AFC Newbury Boys and Girls FC and CSA 07 FC, as well as a fun penalty shootout. Refreshments will also be available. For all the information on the day, click on this link https://www.westberks.gov.uk/Faraday-road-grand-opening
