Newbury Town Council owns and maintains the open space at Hutton Close. The land has remained largely an open space for a number of years. 

Further to a preliminary consultation in 2022, we would like your views on current plans to enhance the area. 

Please take this opportunity to review the plans and make comment on the consultation form here

NEWBURY UNVEILS 21ST BLUE PLAQUE IN HONOUR OF MUSICAL PIONEER ALPHONSE CARY

Newbury is set to celebrate its musical heritage with the unveiling of its 21st blue plaque, honouring Alphonse Cary, a visionary entrepreneur whose work shaped the town’s musical life for decades. On Friday 23rd January at 11am, the Mayor of Newbury, Cllr David Harman, will unveil the plaque at the corner of 47 Northbrook Street—the building Cary constructed in 1882, which today houses the Dog’s Trust Charity Shop.
