West Berkshire Council have created support and guidance for those that are experiencing domestic abuse during the pandemic

With the guidance to stay at home, it is recognised that there may be pressure in households for those who are experiencing or feel at risk of domestic abuse. Domestic abuse is unacceptable in any situation, no matter what stresses a person could be under and their behaviour should not be accepted.

An advice leaflet has been created with contact details of where those who are in need of support can get help.

Key advice is to try and keep a mobile phone on you at all times if you feel at risk of domestic abuse.

If you are in immediate danger, don’t be afraid to call 999 and ask for the police. If you are in danger and unable to talk on the phone, call 999 and then press 55. This will transfer your call to the relevant police force who will assist you without you having to speak.
