Newbury Town Council in partnership with National Tennis Association will be delivering an Open Day on Sunday 29 March 2020 from 10am to 1pm, offering a number of fun activities for the whole family. This is a free event with a chance to experience the new courts in the Park and have a go at tennis with our professional tennis team!

This is part of the Lawn Tennis Association’s ‘Big Tennis Weekends’ scheme. Rackets and balls will be provided, so whether you’ve never picked up a racket before or you’re a seasoned regular – there is fun to be had.

Children between 8 and 10 years old can get stuck into the world of tennis with an exciting programme. With smaller courts, nets and rackets and lower bouncing balls, LTA Mini Tennis offers the perfect introduction to the sport, with all the fun and energy of the real thing.
There’ll be adult coaching taster session. Ideal for people new to the sport or who haven’t picked up a racket in a long time. You can borrow our rackets if you don’t have your own, just come prepared to hit a few balls and have some fun.

No matter what your ability you’ll have fun on court with of junior players your age. Coaches will be on hand to offer tips to help your game and advice on how you can continue to play.

Our refurbished tennis courts have proved to be very popular, and the Open Day is a great way to come and have a go, even if you’ve never played before.
