Following a discussion this morning, as a temporary measure until Members have meet as a full Council and agree an action plan, it is proposed that the TOWN HALL is closed at the end of today to public enquiries at the Reception area.

This is in order to protect staff who attend reception from unnecessary exposure.

Members of the Public will be asked to the phone or email the Council and to attend by appointment only.

Vulnerable members of Staff will be given the opportunity to work remotely or to attend the Offices on a rotation & segregation basis to reduce potential for contamination.

Pending Members decision, contingency plans to be able to transfer incoming calls to be answered remotely, remote access to Newbury Town Council IT and Telephone Conferencing are all being investigated.

New booking to use the Town Hall facilities will be suspended as from today.
