Long Service Award Presentations
To Newbury Town Council's Civic Team

Long Service Award presentations were made to four members of the Town Council’s Civic Team at the Council meeting on Monday 28 January 2019.

Roderick Thomason, Mace Bearer, has completed 25 years’ service in the Town Hall Newbury.  He received an engraved clock, certificate and 25 years’ service medal.

Brian Sylvester, Town Crier, and Dave Stubbs, Town Marshal, have both completed 20 years’ service and received an engraved clock, certificate and 20 years’ service medals.

Finally, Ian Campbell, Mayor’s Attendant, has completed 10 years’ service and received a mace brooch and a certificate.

The Mayor of Newbury, Councillor Margo Payne, said that, together with the 27 years’ service of the Civic Manager, Joyce Lewis, this is over 100 years’ service from an extremely dedicated team:  “The Civic Team plays a key role in upholding the traditions and heritage of the Council and also provide valuable support at events organised by the Council, whether in the Town Hall or other locations around the Town.
We are very fortunate to have such an accomplished, loyal and committed team, a team that ensures that the town’s history and traditions are maintained to the highest standards.”
