Newbury in Bloom Applications Closing Soon

Last Chance to Enter Newbury in Bloom
Entries Closing 30 June

Newbury Town Council reminds all those interested that entries for this year’s ‘Newbury in Bloom” campaign close on 30 June.

The 6 categories for 2018 are:

  • Schools and Colleges
  • Allotments
  • Community Projects
  • Businesses
  • Places of Worship
  • Almshouses
  • Public Buildings

Newbury in Bloom leaflets/entry forms are available from the Town Hall in the Market Place or they can be downloaded from the Town Council’s website:

Entrants into each category will be invited to the prize-giving evening which will be held in the Corn Exchange in September, where each entry will receive a certificate of thanks and trophies and vouchers from the sponsors will be awarded to the category winners.

As in previous years the Town Council has put up over 100 hanging baskets throughout the Town with many businesses taking up the offer of our fully maintained baskets to add a real show of colour to their premises.

“This will be our 3rd year since we re-started the Newbury in Bloom campaign which is growing year on year. We are excited that there has been so much enthusiasm to date and encourage anyone interested to enter and have a go,” said Councillor Sarah Greenall, Chairperson of the Newbury In Bloom Working Group.

She continued, “Newbury will be entering the Royal Horticultural Society’s prestigious Britain in Bloom competition next year and we hope that residents, businesses and everyone in Newbury will get behind the campaign to really show off what Newbury can do!”

Closing date for entries is 30 June 2018 and the judging for the competition will take place from 9 -13 July. For further information, entry forms and details of sponsorship opportunities, contact James Heasman at Newbury Town Council on 01635 35486, email or see our website
