Newbury Youth Council Relaunch

Newbury Youth Council is Relaunching

Newbury Youth Council is relaunching with an open evening, which will give young people a chance to meet special guest Oscar Ward, Reading’s Member of Youth Parliament.

The Youth Council will meet monthly during term time at the Town Hall to discuss issues, organise events, fundraising and consultations. They will also have a role to play in key civic events such as Mayor Making and the remembrance parade.

Cllr Miles Evans, Deputy Leader of the Council said, “I believe that young people are more engaged with social issues now, than at any time before and have a huge amount to contribute to our town.

He continued, “As a relatively young councillor myself, I’m determined to get more young people involved. Not only can the youth council provide valuable experience and knowledge, it also looks great on your CV”.

The relaunch will take place at Newbury Town Hall on Thursday 28 September from 19:00 – 21:00.
