Businesses urged to cast their votes before 5.00 pm, 3 November.
The Newbury Town Council has voted unanimously to support the renewal of the Newbury Business Improvement District for a second term. Councillor Anthony Pick, Deputy Leader of the Council, said that the BID was one of the Council’s most important partners and acknowledged the work done to promote the growth of business in the Town Centre, since it was established in 2012.
Councillor Martha Vickers praised the BID for the environmental work that they carried out to improve the appearance of the Town Centre.
The Town Council was impressed by the BID’s work to date and their ambitious proposals for their second term, to 2022. These include marketing and promoting the Town of Newbury, working to make the Town Centre more attractive and supporting businesses in the Town Centre.
Councillor David Goff, Leader of the Council said:
“The 3rd November is the closing date for eligible businesses to show their support for the BID and we strongly urge those who have not yet cast their votes to do so, by either returning them to West Berkshire Council’s offices, the Town Hall or the BID offices at The Broadway in Newbury. Make no mistake about it, if the BID is not supported, then most, if not all of the valuable services provided to Newbury businesses, will cease.”
