18 May Latest Government Advice on Travelling by Train
Great Western Railways are working closely with the Government to support the nation during the next phase of its response to the coronavirus.
Over the next few weeks, the rail industry will be increasing the number of trains running. However, with measures to support social distancing in place, trains across the country will only be able to carry a fraction of the usual number of passengers.
Great Western Railways are encouraging the public to please avoid travelling by train unless absolutely necessary.
If you must travel by train, customers are asked to follow guidelines when traveling:
-Buy your tickets in advance online
-Allow more time for your journey
-Try traveling during quieter times
-Maintain social distancing
-Wear a mask or face covering
-Catch coughs or sneezes with a tissue
-Pay contactless wherever possible
-Wash your hands regularly
